About the Book

The Runners: Six People from the Old Testament Who Ran is a six-week interactive Bible study that explores the lives of six biblical figures — Hagar, Jacob, Moses, David, Elijah, and Jonah — who each, at some point, ran: from difficult situations, responsibility, fear, failure, or God’s call.

Paula Kolstad builds the study around the metaphor of “running the race” of faith, drawn from Hebrews 12:1–2 and 1 Corinthians 9:24–27. Each biblical character’s story serves as a mirror for the reader’s own spiritual journey, revealing what happens when we run from God or toward Him. Through these narratives, the author encourages readers to train spiritually, persevere, and run with purpose toward the eternal prize.
